Cosmos gameplay
Cosmos is the portal world. Every level is played on a 10x10 board with one to three pairs of linked portals. A bishop's diagonal beam can enter a portal on one side of the board and emerge on the other side, still moving diagonally. The key insight is that portals do not change beam direction. They only change position. This makes some impossible-looking coverage patterns suddenly solvable.
A beam that enters one portal shoots out its twin, still travelling the same way. These two targets can't be hit by one straight line, so send your beam THROUGH the portal to light them both.
In-app intro dialog
Cosmos adds portal pairs to the board. When a beam enters one portal, it exits the paired portal traveling in the same direction. This lets you send beams around corners, across the board, or into otherwise unreachable spots. Portal squares themselves are off-limits for piece placement. Beams can bounce through a portal at most twice per ray to prevent infinite loops.
Bishops dominate early levels, then mixed piece combos
Starts with a single bishop and one portal pair. Ramps to multi-piece puzzles with two or three portal pairs creating complex beam networks.
