The knight jumps in an L-shape: two squares in one direction, then one square perpendicular (or vice versa). It has up to 8 landing squares from any position.
The knight lights its own square plus up to 8 L-shaped target squares. Unlike sliding pieces, it has a fixed range that does not extend with distance.
Different world mechanics change how the knight behaves:
Featured in: School, Storm, Lava, Tech
First introduced in School, 6th Grade.
The knight is the only piece that jumps over obstacles. In worlds with heavy blocking (Lava, Storm), the knight can reach squares that no sliding piece can. Its weakness is limited range: it covers at most 8 specific squares, not full lines.
