By accessing or using CoreSquares ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. We may update these terms from time to time; your continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

2. Description of Service

CoreSquares is a chess data aggregation and analytics platform. We help you connect data from Chess.com, Lichess, USCF, FIDE, and other sources to view a unified profile, game history, analytics, and related features. We do not replace those platforms; we use their data (with your authorization where required) to provide a combined view.

3. Your Account and Responsibilities

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and for all activity under your account. You must provide accurate information and notify us of any unauthorized use. You may only connect accounts (e.g., Chess.com, Lichess) that you own or are authorized to use.

You agree not to use the Service for any illegal purpose, to violate any third-party terms (including Chess.com, Lichess, etc.), to abuse or overload our systems, or to scrape or automate access beyond normal use.

4. Third-Party Services and Data

The Service relies on third-party platforms (Chess.com, Lichess, FIDE, USCF, etc.). Your use of those platforms is governed by their respective terms and policies. We are not responsible for their availability, accuracy, or policies. We use their APIs and data in accordance with their rules and our Privacy Policy.

5. Intellectual Property

CoreSquares and its branding, design, and original content are owned by us. Chess game data and ratings obtained from third-party sources remain subject to those providers' terms. You grant us a limited license to use the data you provide or connect (e.g., usernames, linked accounts) to operate and improve the Service.

6. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for a particular purpose. Analytics, ratings, and other data may be delayed or inaccurate. We are not liable for decisions you make based on the Service.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, CoreSquares and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, revenue, or profits, arising from your use or inability to use the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed one hundred dollars.

8. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access at any time for violation of these terms or for any other reason. You may stop using the Service and request account deletion at any time. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases; we may retain data as described in our Privacy Policy.

9. Governing Law and Contact

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of the United States.
