Pawn

Pawn

Forward diagonals only, the most limited piece

Learned in School · 10th Grade

Attack pattern

The pawn attacks one square diagonally forward (upper-left and upper-right). It is the most restricted piece in the game.

Self-lighting

The pawn lights its own square plus two diagonal-forward squares. That is it. Three squares total at best.

World interactions

Different world mechanics change how the pawn behaves:

Tips

The pawn's weakness is its strength in disguise. Because it covers so few squares, its correct placement is often highly constrained. If a target can only be reached by a pawn's diagonal, that pawn's position is locked. Solve the pawn first, then work outward.
